There is a song by Dar Williams titled "The End of the Summer" and there is a line in it "...it's the end of the summer when you send your children to the moon..." it's stuck in my head this morning.
If you know the song, and you're a mom ... well it's a melancholy feeling, whatever you are thinking on the outside, or whatever they sell you on the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" Staples commercial.
