Think I'll put the internet to bed and retire early, since I just woke birding girl up from the loveseat (snuggling her dog) and sent her to bed. Birding dad is snoring in the recliner ... and who knows what's on TV, certainly nothing we chose.
Speaking of which, do the networks know that it is EASTER? We came home tonight from our Good Friday service at church, and thought "let's put on an OLD CLASSIC EASTER MOVIE"
... right? WRONG!
I know that this holiday is not celebrated by everyone, but neither is Christmas and in the month of December you can hardly click the remote without seeing "A Charlie Brown Christmas", "It's a Wonderful Life", "Miracle on 34th Street", "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" ... you get the picture right?
So WHY!?!?!...........
Why can't I find "The Robe" with Tony Curtis, or "Ben Hur" with Charlton Heston, "Spartacus" with Kirk Douglas or even "Quo Vadis"? My on-line channel guide says I can see (or TIVO) "The Greatest Story Ever Told" tomorrow at 3:30 and 8:00 ... but my TV does not show that as an option. What do they show? "Freddy vs. Jason" or "Saturday Night Fever" just a few that are airing over and over and over again this weekend ... Grrrr....
When I was young, we watched Ben Hur so many times I could quote you the lines ... I feel like I was THERE for the chariot race! I would like my daughter to see these movies too. Of course I could use my IO on demand and watch "The Passion" but, I've been there, done that, and I'm in the mood for a CLASSIC!!!! Dosen't anyone know what that means?
I may have to resort to Blockbuster tomorrow or worse yet ... the video store at the mall!
