      stupdity, ladders, bosses and puppies

Brandy slept through the night just fine. She has a crate-pen-litterbox contraption that M created and arranged in my kitchen.
As to Friday's reference to ladders. I fell. Stupid. Hanging drapes. Stepped from the third rung of a step-ladder to a low stool. Stool went one way, I went the other. The result was slamming the back of my head into the metal divider between the sliding glass doors. Noise, pain, blood and tears (tears were someone's when she saw the blood running between my fingers as I held the back of my head). Ultimately, no sutures, no trip to the ER. Just a late night (M was worried I might have a concussion). lots of Advil, lots of ice packs and a two-day headache.
Was this a fitting end to that Friday? You know, the one with the corporate bosses and graduation?
      Speaking of graduation:

The ceremony went well, and in fact was over early. Why did I get home late? Well my boss (the one with no social graces), stood up at the coffee-and-cake reception and said "OK, I'm heading home", leaving the Vice President of the company there with no where to go at not-even-9 pm except his hotel room. Don't think he's earning any Brownie Points here.
If you have out-of-town corporate visitors isn't it your job to entertain them, or at least offer?
Luckilly a few of us remained, a suggestion was made and we went out for a glass of wine. Now this man was our boss about 11 years ago, so us old-timers had some catching up to do anyway. Had a nice time.
Got home and M was hanging curtain rods ~ someone was still at church youth-group, and I was wide-awake and anxious to get up on that ladder!
(which by the way has perfectly good first and second rungs ~ I just don't like doing things the conventional way)
Now we're off to church, and then home to play with the pup!

To be outspoken when truth is under attack, when charity is being bruised, or when important issues of life are at stake is a good and courageous thing. To be outspoken when nothing is at stake except the feelings of someone else is a small and contemptible thing. ~ Lawrence G. Lovasik (The Hidden Power of Kindness)
